  • Holding baby while parents shower/eat/sleep.

While having friends and family help during the postpartum period can work well, some individuals find it difficult asking guests to help, or they find the guests are really only interested in the baby. As your postpartum doula, I am not a guest, but paid help, which takes away the awkwardness of asking me to assist in whatever way helps you best.

These sessions can done in person or via Zoom (excluding the postpartum visit). Travel further than 30 minutes from Mackay City with incur a small travel fee.

Birth Debrief Session

How you feel about your birth has lasting affects, and your experience matters. During a Birth Debrief Session I hold space for your previous experience. I create a safe space for your thoughts, feelings, trauma and implications of previous births, where you can express yourself without fear or judgement.

Birth Mapping and Intentions Session

If you don’t know your options, you don’t have any. Understanding your options and knowing what you want is vital step in having the birth you want. Together we discuss your options, and will create a birth map. A birth map is a plan of your informed decisions focused around different directions your birth my take. The aim of this session is for you know recognise what you want, and what decisions you will make if your birth goes in a different direction. The Birth Map is created using the framework from “The Birth Map” training by Catherine Bell.

Postpartum Planning Session

Planning and preparation for postpartum success. The postpartum period can often be overlooked in the excitement and planning for birth and baby, but preparation for your postpartum is just as important. To ensure your transition to parenthood (or the growing of your family) to be as smooth and comfortable as possible. We discuss boundary setting, breastfeeding, newborn sleep, the fourth trimester, baby-wearing as well as various tools that can help limit stress and maximise time spent healing and bonding.

Postpartum Visit

A visit during postpartum to offer support for you and your family. Postpartum work is fluid and looks different for everyone. I’ll bring my basket of nourishing treats, tinctures and teas and will offer support that is personalised to what you need. Whether your baby is 2 days, 2 months or two years, I can support you in whatever capacity you need. I can clean, wash dishes, hold baby so you can rest or shower, I can support you physically and emotionally, becoming part of your village.
